Heavyweight Title Bout Added to LFA 38 on April 27 in Minneapolis

Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA) CEO Ed Soares announced today that LFA will return to Minnesota in April with a heavyweight title fight headlining LFA 38. The event will take place at The Armory, which is a historic venue in downtown Minneapolis.

Jeff Hughes defeated Richard Odoms in the Legacy Fighting Alliance 26 from the Arena Theatre in Houston, Texas on Friday. Hughes beat Odoms, the reigning heavyweight champion, by a unanimous decision.

Legacy Fighting Alliance brought the violence to Houston where a new champion was crowned. Richard Odoms and Jeff Hughes battled for all five rounds in the main event where the judges voted in favor of Hughes, granting him the unanimous decision victory.

Jeff Hughes (7-1) debut LFA bout will be for the promotion's heavyweight title, as he is set to challenge Richard Odoms (13-3) at LFA 26 on Nov. 3 in Houston, Texas. “Lights Out” signed a three-fight deal with the promotion in August.

If you want to look at a perfect example of mixed martial arts pushing the art of fighting forward, look no further than this knockout from Caged Madness 40. Heavyweights Jeff Hughes and Jason Riley squared off in the main event of the night, and Hughes knocked Riley out with a spinning back kick to the head with only nine seconds to go in the first round. Keep an eye out for Jeff Hughes in the future – he kicks like a mule.
